Felix & Stan

25–27 June 2027 Waldhotel am See, Berlin-Schmöckwitz

more below

OMG! It’s really happening! We are getting married at a small hotel in the forest on the south-eastern edge of Berlin, where the city runs out and the lakes begin. We would love you to be there.

We envision a weekend full of fun, from Friday dinner to Sunday brunch. The wedding itself is on the Saturday. Some of you are coming a long way, and if you want to make more of the trip there is a lake to swim in, a forest to hike through, and a city worth a few extra days. You decide what you join for.

Nearly everything you need is on this website (thanks Claude for helping us build it!). If something is missing, ask us.

The wedding invitation: a child-like crayon drawing of two men holding hands under a rainbow, with the details in Chinese, English and Bulgarian.
Our invitation. The drawing is ours — we made it on a rainy afternoon at the Neue Nationalgalerie and never meant to keep it.Tap it to read it properly.

Travel

Schmöckwitz is a long way out, which is the point of it. Flying into BER, arriving by train at Südkreuz or Ostbahnhof, or driving — and how to cover the last stretch once you are here.

How to get here

Telling us you're coming

Two questions now: are you coming, and who with. The longer form, with rooms and meals and the days either side, follows closer to the time.

A drawing we nearly threw away

There was a drawing corner at the Neue Nationalgalerie, meant for children. We were tired of standing, so we sat down. Stan did the rainbow, because a rainbow is the one thing he can draw, and then the sky and the sun. Felix did everything else, and assumed the whole thing was going in the bin on the way out.

It is framed in our flat now, and it is on the front of our invitation.

How the drawing happened

A question meant for somebody else

In 2024, in a Japanese garden in Berlin, Stan found himself standing under a banner reading Will you marry me? and had roughly four seconds of quiet panic before working out that the whole thing had been set up by a complete stranger, for somebody else entirely.

Two years later, Felix got to the front door first.

How the proposal happened

Getting in the mood

A short list of things to listen to, watch and learn before June.

Bits of the weekend will make more sense if you have met them beforehand. There will be references scattered through the day to the things on this page, and we are not going to point them out at the time — you will either catch them or you won’t. There is also a Bulgarian pravo horo, which we would like everyone on their feet for, and a Chinese tea ceremony, which is easier to enjoy when you know what you are watching.
